I’m very pleased to show two new editions of the Senator. Glashütte Original continues to engage with the art of design, presenting quintessential expressions of the manufactory:
the Senator Panorama Date and Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase.
The in-house design team of Glashütte Original made a number of changes to achieve a stunning new look that is both classic and contemporary at once. The bezel has been cut back to make room for a lacquered silver-grain dial whose finely textured surface forms a sumptuous backdrop for deep black Roman numerals and a classic black railroad chapter ring.
One of Glashütte Original’s signatures, the panorama date display is presented in black on an ivory ground matching the colour of the dial, and new blued-steel “poire” shaped hands enhance the elegance of the new design.
The Saxon manufactory’s in-house designers have made a number of more subtle but no less effective changes. The previous versions used a button at 8 o’clock to reset the second hand to zero; the new version of the Senator watch replaces with button with a corrector inset in the case.
40 mm is the diameter and the cases are both polished and brushed surfaces, either in red gold or stainless steel version, and the matt black Louisiana alligator bracelet attaches the watch perfectly to the wearer’s wrist. Depending on the case material, the fold-over clasp is made of red gold or stainless steel. For a more sporty look the stainless steel versions are also available with a high quality finished stainless steel bracelet.
The Senator Panorama Date is driven by the Saxon manufactory’s automatic Caliber 100 03, the Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase by the Caliber 100-04, both with a 55 hour power reserve.
Easily admired through the generous sapphire crystal set in the case back, the Calibre 100 features a screw balance with 18 weighted gold-coated screws, twin spring barrels, swan-neck fine adjustment, skeletonized rotor with 21-carat oscillating weight.
