Announcing The Geneva Watch Auction: SIX & Thematic Sale of Vintage Heuer Watches

With five more days left to the closure of September 2017, Phillips Watches have announced the dates for their November sale dates in Geneva, to be held hot on the trail of the conclusion of their inaugural New York sale, “Winning Icons” on the 26th of October.

The news is two-fold. First on the evening of the 11th and 12th of November, Phillips will hold The Geneva Watch Auction: SIX. This is when the auction house will have the majority of the November catalogue out for sale. However, before that to kick things off on the first evening, Phillips will once again hold one of their much-anticipated thematic sales.

This time round, the theme focuses on vintage Heuer and has been christened, The Crosthwaite & Gavin Collection: A Thematic Sale of Vintage Heuer Watches.

Auction Details

The Crosthwaite & Gavin Collection, Saturday 11 November — 6pm

The Geneva Watch Auction: SIX part 1, Saturday 11 November — 7.30pm

The Geneva Watch Auction: SIX part 2, Sunday 12 November — 6pm

Location: Hôtel La Réserve, Bellevue, Geneva

42 Heuer watches — particularly from the Jack Heuer era — from the collection of Richard Crosthwaite and Paul Gavin, collectors, authors, and respected keepers of the Heuer history, have been gathered for the sale.

The vintage portion of the sale will be concluded with the auctioning off of a version of the new Autavia, which Jack Heuer personally designed. Proceeds from the sale of this unique piece has been pledged towards Save The Children, a worthy foundation that aims to ensure every child’s right to a future.

The news of the thematic sale was, in fact, first publicized by Phillips earlier in March, with a glimpse of just three pieces that will form part of the 42. Now, we await to witness the remaining Crosthwaite & Gavin catalogue.

In the meantime, Phillips has also publicized 11 headliners from the primary sale. That bunch, for your gawking pleasure, is below. There are, otherwise, 160 lots gathered for the sale. A compact number considering Phillips’ recent catalogues.

Of course, it goes without saying that the sale that the world awaits with the greatest of anticipation in 2017, has to be the Winning Icons auction. Again, we’ve yet to see the full catalogue for that sale, but considering the sale is really just a month away now, you can expect to see the complete list soon enough.
