Very interestingly, when the Only Watch 2017 lineup was announced on Wednesday, every brand represented had a watch to show, save for a collaboration between Laurent Ferrier and Urwerk, which turned up only as a place holder. Or to be more specific: An image of a pencil sketch.
Well, just today, both brands published the same image on their individual Instagram accounts that now gives us a glimpse of what it could be.
For one, we know now that the co-signed piece is called the Arpal1. The case of the timepiece, which bears some resemblance to the UR-T8’s, was created by case maker Christian Gros, who has been there ever since the days of the Opus V and has created every Urwerk case you could think of. Next, we also see that the familiar satellite hour display of Urwerk’s.
Where’s Laurent Ferrier then? Urwerk commented on their Instagram account saying, “Time is ticking but we are not quite ready to reveal all! Neither a @laurent_ferrier watch nor an URWERK. Created by two companies each basing its identity on the opposite ends of watchmaking’s stylistic spectrum.”
Guess we’ll just have to be patient with this one.
