After the closures of Rolex, Patek Philippe and several other brands’ offices and production facilities in Switzerland, today we are learning that Le Brassus based, Audemars Piguet, too, is taking measures to ensure the health and safety of their own .
In a tweet, the brand informed that on top of their Swiss production sites, they will also be closing some of their office and boutiques on a global scale, until end March.
In this period of uncertainty, people’s safety remains at the heart of our priorities. This is why we have decided to close our Swiss production sites as well as some of our offices and boutiques in various countries until the end of March. pic.twitter.com/CXQauug7vO— Audemars Piguet (@AudemarsPiguet) March 18, 2020
As we understand the situation, Audemars Piguet has been in the midst of planning for the grand opening of their recently completed museum named, Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet. The opening ceremonies, which were initially slated to occur within the late April to early May period (essentially overlapping with Watches & Wonders 2020 and Baselworld 2020) have now been pushed back to at least the end of 2020.
The decision made comes in the wake of the Federal Office of Public Health of Switzerland reporting approximately 3028 positive cases, 2772 confirmed cases and 21 deaths to date, as of 3pm on the 18th of March 2020.
