Bremont Provides the Antidote

Bremont is proving to be the go-to watch brand for action movies. Following its success with the original Kingsman film, the all-British chronometer-maker has kitted out Tom Hardy for Colombia Pictures’ Venom. The company’s new U2/51-JET is the watch chosen for screen-time, and – in collaboration with the studio – Bremont has teamed up with renowned comic artist and aviation enthusiast, Adi Granov, to paint the Bremont Broussard, the brand’s former 1950s French military aircraft.

Venom is one of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex antiheroes – and an ideal role for the Academy Award-nominated Hardy (apparently on the short-list to be the next James Bond), who has forged a career in creating brooding, dark, twisted characters. Appropriately for Venom, with its sombre tone, Bremont’s stealthy new U-2/51-JET timepiece can be seen adorning his wrist throughout.

Taking its design cues from some of Bremont’s military work commissioned by the RAF’s 100 squadron, the first squadron’s Hawk T1 jet aircraft’s stealthy appearance led to the introduction of this “Jet” black timepiece. Its look is completed by a black smoked glass case back through which one can view the movement.

Says Nick English, Bremont Co-Founder: “Tom is not only a phenomenally-talented actor but is perfectly placed to bring to life this lethal protector and his struggle between good and bad. The U-2/51-Jet is Bremont’s stealthiest watch to date, which we felt lent itself to the darker side of the film. We’re honoured to have Eddie Brock, played by Tom, wearing our watch throughout and we’re incredibly excited to see the finished product in October.”
