A dream come true is always possible with Cartier. Known as the Jeweler to Kings, Cartier captures the dazzle and dream of mankind, creating one-of-a-kind pieces to last a lifetime with. And when you gather all the exquisite and immaculate grace of Cartier’s collection, you have what the French would call étourdissant, a singular word to describe the splendid oeuvre of the one and only Cartier.
In commemoration of Singapore’s 50th anniversary, Cartier Singapore presents a world premiere Étourdissant Cartier exhibition, which showcases more than 600 pieces of high jewellery, haute horlogerie and precious objets d’art. This is the first time in the world that Cartier has ever opened a full contemporary collection of high jewellery and vintage creations for public viewing. Amongst the pieces presented, more than 60 will be making their world debut in Singapore — another first for the Maison. As part of Singapore’s celebration and festivities in this jubilee year, Cartier is taking the opportunity to invite the broader public to share in its passion for art and its unique approach to artisanship.
Highlights of the exhibition include the eponymous Étourdissant necklace, an enchanting luminous creation that features a 34.96-carat perfectly colourless, brilliant-cut central stone, as well as the Andaman necklace, an extremely rare 44.47-carat cushion shaped Burmese sapphire extracted from the legendary Mogok mines.
The exhibition is held at the Singapore Pinacothèque de Paris, a wunderkammer featuring a century of masterpieces, loaned from private collectors around the world. The unifying concept of Étourdissant Cartier creates a mystic beauty to the setting; it is almost like stepping into the Palace of Versailles, getting first-hand look at the spectacular work of art.
Étoudissant Cartier will be opened to the public from 10am–6pm on October 31, 2015 at the Singapore Pinacothèque de Paris.
