Inspired by the growth in popularity of cryptocurrencies, Chronoswiss has created an exclusive collection, the Blockchain Series, of five limited edition timepieces. Produced in a limited edition of 101 pieces in each version, the first edition is the Flying Regulator Open Gear Blockchain Series, Bitcoin – the Currency, named after the best-known cryptocurrency.

“As a mechanical-watch brand founded against all odds in the quartz crisis, Chronoswiss has always been a visionary brand,” says Oliver Ebstein, owner and CEO of Chronoswiss. “We have embraced many new technologies over the years: We were one of the first brands in the luxury watch market to offer exclusive timepieces via our own E-Shop. In autumn 2017, we decided to accept payment by Bitcoin (and other selected cryptocurrencies) at our E-Shop and the company boutique. From this, the next step was logical: the decision to launch a collection of watches inspired by the concept of cryptocurrencies – so in 2018, the Blockchain Series Limited Edition was born.”

And, yes, the approximately CHF 9,000 timepiece can be purchased in Bitcoin.
