The Connected Agent – Kingsman: The Golden Circle

For Kingsman: The Golden Circle – the sequel to 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service – director Matthew Vaughn, has chosen to team up with TAG Heuer.  Partnering with Bremont for the first movie, Vaughn states: “The watch does so much in this film and having a mechanical watch do it all would look stupid; it has to hack into computers, control other technology… it needs to be a smartwatch.” Learning about the TAG Heuer Connected whilst watching a Bloomberg TV interview with TAG’s CEO, Jean-Claude Biver, Vaughn was impressed and contacted the brand. From there, the collaboration was quickly established.
On the topic of the Kingsman/TAG partnership, Biver says: “When Matthew called me, I thought it was Christmas.  It’s extraordinary to be connected to Kingsman. It’s the best partnership we could have hoped for, especially with the success of the whole franchise in Asia… it’s huge!”
Initial promotion for the film (in cinemas now) coincided with the launch of the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 “Kingsman” Special Edition, which was released to the public through Mr Porter in July. Features unique to the new watch include: pink-gold lugs, brown-leather and orange velvet straps and Kingsman dial functions.
