Ferrari’s 70th Birthday & “Leggenda e Passione” Auction in Maranello

On the occasion of its 70th birthday, Ferrari will be throwing a massive bash in its hometown of Maranello over the 9th and 10th of September 2017.

Ferrari owners from around the world will be congregating over the weekend for several events planned around the clock. But, without doubt, the highlight for everyone — and even for Ferrari themselves — will the “Leggenda e Passione” auction to be hosted by leading auction house RM Sotheby’s.

A little over 50 lots have gathered for the sale with treasures such as a fully Ferrari Classiche certified 1966 275 GTB Alloy (lot 143).

However, if you an 80s kid like me, then perhaps Lot 146, the 1989 Ferrari F40 will be more to your liking.

Hublot, who has been a partner of Ferrari’s for five years now, is also getting in on the action with a pièce unique version of the Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph in PEEK Carbon & King Gold (Lot 109).

The Techframe was officially unveiled earlier this year at Baselworld and stands to be one of the most important creations to come out of the Hublot-Ferrari partnership to date.

In a unique exercise of exchange of industrial knowhow, the Tecframe was dreamt up by Ferrari’s in-house design team, Centro Stile, led by Flavio Manzoni and later forged inside Hublot’s Nyon manufacture to create a Hublot timepiece like none before.
