After nearly three months of soft opening, the A Lange & Sohne Singapore ION Orchard Boutique was officially opened on the 28th of February 2013. “Singapore”, said Lange Uhren Gmbh CEO Wilhelm Schmid, “is famed among the watch industry as one that draws highly knowledgeable and passionate watch enthusiasts”. More, Singapore as a market must be sufficiently worthy for their CEO and their Asia Pacific Managing Director Francck Giacobini to attend and participate in the ribbon cutting.
In conjunction with the official boutique opening, the evening was also an exclusive preview for Lange’s VIP guests to the “State-of-the-art Tradition” exhibition staged at the ION Art on the same mall. The exhibition showcases the 168 year old legacy of Lange and the traditional finest art of Glashutte watchmaking.
Lange Singapore, led by its Regional Country Manager Michelle Chen spared no effort by bringing in watchmaker and artisans from the manufacture including its engraver Simone Rauchfuss and its finisher Maik Pfeiffer to demonstrate their dedication, patients and fine skill in decorating every single component of a Lange timepiece.
“With this exhibition we not only celebrate the grand opening of the Singapore flagship boutique, but also the brand and its wonderful Saxonian origins” said Lange’s Regional Country Michelle Chen. “We hope that this will set the stage or even bigger things for A Lange & Sohne in the future”. When asked about the significance of the exhibition, Michelle Chen told us that it has “brought Lange lovers together and the responses from all our collectors has been extremely encouraging”.
Normally reserved for the privileged few who have been invited to the A Lange & Sohne Manufacture. the public will have a rare opportunity to view the best of Glashutte fine watchmaking at the exhibition since 2nd of March 2013 to March 5th.
If you are in Singapore and have not visited the exhibition, tomorrow is the last chance!
