Hublot has certainly had a magnificent 2014 with one of the year’s biggest highlights being the brand’s status as the Official Timekeeper of the FIFA World Cup. With Hublot being ever vigilant for opportunities to partner itself with the most relevant sporting teams, events and individuals, the brand has certainly pushed ahead among them all to become the most culturally significant in recent times.

Continuing on, Hublot has gone on to score yet another coup by become the Official Timekeeper of another World Cup. Mind you, its not the FIFA World Cup I’m referring to but the Cricket World Cup 2015 Australia and New Zealand. Yesterday (24th of November) in Sydney, Australia, the brand formed an exclusive partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to become the Official Timekeeper of this prestigious event.

In accordance with Hublot’s way of doing things as well, Australian sporting icon, Michael Clarke, captain of the Australian cricket team for both Test and ODI cricket, was made the new brand ambassador for Australia and New Zealand.

Michael’s joins the prestigious Hublot family alongside the Brazilian living legend Pelé, the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt, US basketball stars Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade, Football coach José Mourinho, the Bayern Munich and Paris Saint–Germain football teams.

Said Michael Clarke at the announcement, “Being an extremely keen watch enthusiast Hublot is a natural choice for me and I feel so honoured to partner with Hublot as an official brand ambassador”.

Hublot will celebrate this partnership with the ICC, launching one specially created, limited edition timepieces, available in two versions (King Gold and Titanium) inspired by the traditional cricket pitch and leather ball in early 2015. The Cricket World Cup tournament will be jointly held across Australia and New Zealand in February and March 2015. The first matches will be played in Christchurch and Melbourne on February 14, with the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 29 March.
