TAG Heuer forges forward with its roll out of 2020 novelties and the celebration of the brand’s 160th anniversary. Today, the watchmaker adds to its fold a redesigned watch to the Carrera Chronograph Collection, geared no doubt towards those who are more appreciative of TAG Heuer’s later contemporary aesthetics.

The launch collection will include four variations, all in steel; all 44mm in diameter. Two instances of the watch are with black dials and ceramic bezels. The third version is with a blue dial and blue bezel. The fourth and last version has a green dial and an all steel bezel.

At 44mm, the new watch is listed to be a millimeter larger than the existing contemporary case of the Carrera Chronographs with the skeleton dial and powered by the Heuer 02 movement. However, the major point of deviation is that the length of the lugs on the redesigned Carrera Chronograph is markedly shorter.

Which brings hope to those with skinner wrists and love TAG Heuer’s contemporary take on their chronographs but are unable to wear these just because the lugs on the watch would hang far outside of the wrist, like a diving board. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but you get the point.

The movement in the watch is the aforementioned Heuer 02. A workhorse in the TAG Heuer stable. The automatic movement features the desirable column wheel chronograph mechanism with a vertical clutch engagement system, typical of most modern automatic chronograph watches.
