New Watchmaking Documentary: Keeper of Time

A new watchmaking documentary is being shot now, called Keeper of Time, produced and directed by New York filmmaker Michael Culyba.

This feature-length documentary is being shot in the US as well as Europe and features such watchmaking luminaries as Roland Murphy, F.P. Journe, Max Büsser and others.

Culyba has already started shooting and is using Kickstarter to raise the money to fund the movie’s budget. “Keeper of Time explores the history of horology and timekeeping,” he explains. “We are going to tell the story about how human civilization kept time, from the beginning to today. There will be a focus on mechanical watchmaking and the film will also explore the concept of time itself, so we will be talking to physicists and micro-biologists, and explore how we perceive time internally.”

The Kickstarter goal is to raise $100,000 and the fundraising is going on right now, finishing on November 5.

Culyba is a professional film editor, so he will cut the film himself, then Keeper of Time will participate in film festivals and secure distribution.

If you’ve always had a hankering to be involved in the film industry, now’s your chance.
