SIHH 2018: The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S Blue

Share

Roger Dubuis’ contribution to SIHH 2018, consists of four new watches that further the story between themselves and two grand names in the world of racing that they minted partnerships with in 2017.

First up, the partnership that was announced at SIHH 2017, the one that gave birth to Excalibur Spider Pirelli – Double Flying Tourbillon, namely Pirelli Tires.

This year’s addition to the collection of watches contained within that partnership is the Excalibur Spider Automatic Skeleton, now in a choice of deep blue or pristine white accents. Of course, they will continue to come fitted with Formula One winning Pirelli tires, which for the first time will have a quick release system incorporated, should you wish to change out the strap.

From the second partnership, which was just announced in September of 2017, comes two new versions of the Excalibur Aventador S. The initial version in pink gold was announced as a pre-SIHH piece, not weeks ago. But the hero watch, and the second version of the Excalibur Aventador S being shown at Palexpo will be the Excalibur Aventador S Blue.
Created using the same C-SMC carbon used in Lamborghini cars, the 45mm case of the watch bears a titanium mid-case molded over with blue rubber. Fitted inside of the watch is the Poinçon de Genève certified, double sprung RD103SQ.

While introducing the SIHH 2018 lineup, one thing that CEO, Jean-Marc Pontroué couldn’t help but iterate several times, is the need to go beyond the selling of a watch to a customer. To create experiences for the individual such that the buyer becomes a believer.

It was what Roger Dubuis did for the eventual owners of the 8 Excalibur Spider Pirelli – Double Flying Tourbillon watches who were treated to unabashed all access backstage experiences at F1 races through 2017. In the same manner, more exclusive experiences in line with partners, Pirelli and Lamborghini will be dished out as the year chugs along.
