Independent brand HYT truly makes watches like no other in the industry — their patented movement that tells time using colored water has, since its introduction not that long ago, always made HYT stand out. Their futuristic designs with bold color palettes make HYT watches recognizable anywhere, which is why I always look forward to seeing their novelties at SIHH — it’s just always bound to be memorable. And this year did not disappoint on that front at all, as HYT doubles down on its unique way of telling time and also brings some bling to the table.

First, in pre-SIHH news last December, HYT revealed its H20 “Time is Fluid” model, which encompasses both an update in the H20’s design and a philosophical embrace. Continuing in that thread, HYT unveiled the H0 “Time is Precious”, expanding the H0 collection. This new model is in stainless steel with a mix of brushed, micro-blasted and satin finishes and has an interesting dial made of 63 mirrored facets, each lightly tilted at a different angle to catch the light differently. The dial looks like a beautifully broken mirror, hammering home the message engraved around the stainless steel case: “Time is Precious”. The watch looks like something out of Ex-Machina, with its transparent rubber strap and silver and red color palette, and shows the beautiful craftsmanship and innovative design that HYT can produce.

HYT also unveiled this week two additions to one of its staple collections, the H0. The two new models preserve the same fluid time telling movement that is signature HYT (a tube filled with dyed liquid circles the dial, with the dyed liquid progressing along the tube to mark the hours), but one comes in red with a matching red alligator strap and the other in black with matching strap. Both models are stainless steel with different finishes (the red is more of a satin finish while the black has a DLC coating), but the showstopper with the two new models is the 1,206 snow-set diamonds covering the dial completely (a total of 7.4 carats per watch). The sapphire cloche-like glass shows off the diamonds beautifully — these new H0 models are just undeniably attention grabbing.

Last but not least, HYT also added three new models to its H1.0 collection — a design where the HYT’s unique movement with bellows is on full display. The new models all come in stainless steel with DLC coating, available in either black DLC with green fluid and minute hand, anthracite DLC with red fluid and minute hand, or steel with blue fluid and minute hand. These new versions of the H1.0 complete the collection whose design is just plain cool — an HYT guarantee.
