Vacheron Constantin has just revealed a new addition to their 2016 Overseas collection, which, considering the collection’s theme and point of inspiration, is possibly the most apt addition yet.
At 43.5mm, the Overseas World Time is a steel-cased watch, fitted with Vacheron’s caliber 2460 WT. The movement enables the watch to track a total of 37 cities, with 13 cities that represent timezones, which are offset by 15 and 30 minutes. These cities are marked in an alternate color from the remaining names, making for easy differentiation from those that are commonly found on world time watches.
The map of the northern hemisphere on the center of the dial is a combination of sunburst satin-finished continents along with velvet-finished oceans. Thereafter a sapphire disc is used to hold the city names and a separate overlaying sapphire disc is used for the 24-hour, day/night indication.
