TAG Heuer revs up for the Geneva motor show

As Geneva gets ready for the International Motor Show, TAG Heuer organized a special event to celebrate their recent partnership with the new FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first fully electric motor-racing series.

One of the series’ spectacular electric racing cars was on show to the public in front of the TAG Heuer boutique on Sunday, before it revved up, well maybe just hummed a little (it is electric after all), and then took a tour around the city, much to the joy of all those people out and about on a Sunday morning stroll.

Revolution Switzerland was following in TAG Heuer’s safety van, but the FIA Formula E car was so fast, we lost it at the first red light. We did manage to get closer as it crossed the Mont Blanc bridge though (see photo below).

The car was piloted by young female Swiss driver Simona de Silvestro who is joining TAG Heuer to promote Switzerland as a venue for the championship during the 2016/2017 season.

“We would never have dreamed of getting an ePrix in Switzerland off the ground without TAG Heuer and Mr Biver’s continuing support,” said Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E Holdings. “We are very proud to have TAG Heuer as a founding partner, and thankful that they are able to assist us in this exciting challenge. If the race takes place, TAG Heuer will definitely be our title sponsor. The ePrix will strengthen our close relationship with this country, which is the home market of our Global Partner Bank Julius Baer. They have been fully behind us since the very first race in Beijing.”

The car will also be on show at the Geneva International Motor Show as part of a special TAG Heuer exhibition from March 3rd 2015.
