Talking Watches with Shu Qi

Shu Qi is a Chinese actress and model who has been working with Bvlgari for a number of years. Born in Taiwan as in Lin Li-hui (林立慧), she went to Hong Kong to start her film career, taking the stage name Shu Qi (舒淇).

She was in Baselworld with Bvlgari, so I was able to sit down with her for a few minutes to talk Taiwan, film and all things Bvlgari, exclusively for Revolution.Watch.

How did you get together with Bvlgari?

“I really like Italian design. When I began working regularly, a friend of mine suggested that I buy the best quality products, and I started finding out more about Bvlgari. I went to a Bvlgari event in Rome and I really like products with a story and history, so Bvlgari was the perfect match for me. They reached out to me and we have been working together ever since.”

What do you like about Bvlgari?

“I have an affinity with the company. I fell in love with the brand and I feel like part of the family. I think we share the same values.”

Do you get to wear Bvlgari products in your movie projects?

“I do a lot of period pieces, so it’s not possible to wear Bvlgari while filming these. However, for 2016’s My Best Friend’s Wedding, a Chinese remake of the American original, all the jewelry I wear is Bvlgari, which was a great opportunity for me.”

What is your latest project?

“I just finished Shanghai Fortress, a science fiction film set in the future, where the city of Shanghai has to defend itself against an alien attack. This film will be out in September of this year.”

What is your favorite Bvlgari watch?

“I love the Lvcea and the Serpenti timepieces. They are just absolutely stunning. And the Diva’s Dream is incredible.”

Shu Qi

Shu Qi, one of China’s leading actresses and a global ambassador for the Bvlgari brand for both watches and jewelry, was an absolute delight. It was a treat to talk with her about Taiwan, her film career and her love of Bvlgari.

We here at Revolution.Watch wish her all the best.
