Unveiling the Ulysse Nardin latest novelties and key developments showcased at the Baselworld 2013watch fair. This year proves to be an exciting one for the independent watch brand as it presented 5 new in-house movements in the following timepieces: Skeleton Tourbillon, Stranger – Musical Watch, Marine Chronograph Manufacture, Jade and Freak. Combining watchmaking savoir-faire with breakthrough innovations, the marque continues to impress yet again with some never-seen-before technical advancements in the high complication collection, as well as brand new additions to the sporty Marine series and elegant Classico range.

Black Sea. Newest addition to the Back Sea collection with blue accents on the dial. Stainless steel case specially coated with vulcanized rubber, enhancing the timepiece’s comfort, flexibility and able to withstand the most extreme conditions.

Royal Ruby Tourbillon. Flying tourbillion as well as skeletonized movement parts with an invisible manual winding system. The spark of luminous red on the dial reveals the mechanical mastery of the precious timepiece.

Marine Chronograph Manufacture. A brethren model to the Marine Chronometer Manufacture, the newest Marine dress watch features the new Manufacture Chronograph movement and the Grand Feu enamel dial.

Freak Limited Edition. Commemorative timepiece initiated by and created for The Hour Glass. Celebrates over a decade of the Freak as an original icon, a bold and inventive timepiece ahead of its time. 7-day Carrousel Tourbillon.

Skeleton Tourbillon. First exclusive Skeleton Tourbillion calibre that is fully developed and manufactured in-house. Incorporating the very latest Silicum technology in the movement with a power reserve of 170 hours, 7 days.

Jade. First in-house designed and produced self-winding calibre for women’s watches. Simplified, ‘manicure-friendly’ selection of winding, adjusting the date and time setting via the pusher at the 4 o’clock position. Incorporates the top-notched Silicium technology in the movement.

Stranger – Musical Watch. New, in-house developed musical timepiece using Silicium technology in the movement. Inspired by the music box mechanism, the dial reveals a rotating disc with ten special blades playing the Frank Sinatra’s 1966 unforgettable song, “Strangers in the Night” on the hour and on request.

Classico Serpent. Enamelling has been a mainstay in Ulysse Nardin’s collection for the past 25 years. Using the Enamel Champlevé method, each cell is carved and filled with enamel before the firing and cooling process. With reference to the Chinese Year of the Snake, the enamel art dial brings to life the serpent in vivid, painterly colours.
