For the next three-and-a-half weeks, Harrods will promote fine watchmaking through an exhibition of timepieces created by some of its key fine watch brands. This latest event in the store’s annual summer watch fest celebrates historical timepieces from the brand’s archives. All of the watches presented are either limited editions or Harrods exclusives. Wathes on display include:
Audemars Piguet Skeleton Tourbillon Offshore Yellow Gold
The jewel in AP’s crown, the Royal Oak was launched in 1972 and joined by its big brother, the Offshore, in 1993. This version, exclusive to Harrods throughout July, allows the movement to be seen through the openworked dial and has been created in this year’s metal of choice: yellow gold.
JCartier Panthère Joueuse Calibre 9918 MC
This limited edition of just two pieces will be available exclusively from Harrods during July. A symbol of the maison since 1914, the iconic cat here unites haute joaillerie and haute horlogerie, with a diamond encrusted panther cub chasing a ball around the dial – his toy indicating the hours while his paw shows the minutes.
Harry Winston Premier Precious Lace Automatic 36mm
Exclusive to Harrods, these five watches have been created in tribute to Harry Winston’s very forst watch collection from 1989. These versions of the Premier depict delicate lace through a combination of green and white etched mother-of-pearl and diamonds.
